2025 NFL Draft: Top Suitors For Boise State RB Ashton Jeanty

There is no doubt who the top running back in the draft class is.

Boise State product Ashton Jeanty enters Thursday’s NFL Draft as the No. 1 rated running back with may teams interested. The question is, how high will a team draft a running back?

Jeanty was one of the top players in the nation last season. He carried the ball 324 times for an eye-popping 2,601 yards and 29 touchdowns. Jeanty averaged seven yards per carry as he carried the Bronco offense to the College Football Playoff.

There will be many teams interested in making a move for a playmaker. Below, check out three teams that could draft Jeanty.

3. Denver Broncos

There are few better places to be right now. The Denver Broncos progressed much faster than expected with the coach and quarterback combination of Sean Payton and Bo Nix. The Broncos made the postseason despite being near the bottom of the league in rushing. The pass game was much improved with Payton taking over. Now, he could be looking for his next great running back.

2. Dallas Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys did not pursue Derrick Henry last year and decided to roll with the likes of Rick Dowdle. It is no question why the Cowboys’ run game was among the worst in football. Jeanty would solve this problem right away and give Dak Prescott another weapon to work with. The Cowboys would throw Jeanty at the top of the depth chart right away. Both Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders would act as strong depth pieces but do not excite as starters. Jeanty would provide that spark needed in the backfield.

1. Las Vegas Raiders

If Jeanty is there, and it sure seems like he will be when the Las Vegas Raiders are on the clock, it seems like this will be the landing spot. Just because it might happen does not make it a perfect landing spot but the new-look Raiders are looking to add talent offensively. Pete Carroll was brought in to be the new head coach and neutralize the franchise. Geno Smith was acquired in a trade and extended while Brock Bowers had one of the best rookie years from a pass catcher in league history. Jeanty would give the team another young weapon for years to come.
