2025 MLB Opening Day: Top Over/Unders To Look Out For
Opening Day is finally here.
We have made it to the first day of the 2025 MLB season and there is excitement across all teams in the league. There are many new faces on new teams and fan bases that are finding ways for their team to be successful.
On the gambling side, many over/unders for team wins are being considered. If you are taking a last-minute look, these picks should be on your radar.
Overs
Pittsburgh Pirates, 75.5: Do not shy away from the Pirates once again this season. They hit their over last year and will again in 2025. Pittsburgh is going to have strong pitching, led by Paul Skenes. Jared Jones will be back in the mix once he is healthy with Mitch Keller. Pittsburgh is going to have enough arms to win some games in the dog days.
Seattle Mariners, 84.5: Seattle has narrowly missed the postseason in each of the last two years. So far the trend has been to back teams with strong pitching. The Mariners might have the best five-man staff in the league. Throw this in with a deep lineup that can beat you in many ways and this is a team heading back to the playoffs.
Toronto Blue Jays, 78.5: The Blue Jays are one of the dark-horses that are not gaining enough respect this offseason. Vlad Guerrero Jr. is in a contract year and expects to get paid. This is going to be a massive season. Anthony Santander will not act as protection. The Blue Jays have one year left to make a run before potentially blowing it all up and this is the year.
Unders
Baltimore Orioles, 88.5: The Orioles struggled last season and have a lot of if’s once again. Corbin Burnes is no longer at the top of the rotation. There are many question marks surrounding this team in a difficult division. Baltimore might contend for a playoff spot in a weak American League but will not be at the top of the AL East.
New York Mets, 91.5: The Mets were the darlings of the offseason after adding Juan Soto on a 15-year deal. New York made a run to the NLCS and the expectation is to get back. This might be possible but 92 wins seems daunting heading into the year, especially for a team with a weak pitching staff. The Mets are going to score a ton of runs and if the pitching holds up, this number will go over. But that is a big, big if.
Tampa Bay Rays, 81.5: Do not back the Rays this season. In a loaded AL East, the Rays seem like the odd team out this year. The number is relatively low at 81.5 but this is a team that will struggle to play .500 ball this season.
